FAQs.

I want you at our wedding or event! Where do I start?

Reach out! You can contact us via our contact form, phone us or email us directly. We will return fire as soon as we possibly can (while accepting the confines of two rowdy primary school age kids!) You can also follow us on Instagram or Facebook.

How does your pricing work?

When we attend public events, we charge paying customers for ice cream / coffee as you would expect. We may charge an attendence fee depending on the event. Private events are a little different and depends on how you want things to work. For example, you may decide you want to put up a ice cream (bar) ‘tab’ for your guests totalling a certain amount. You may decide to provide each guest with one (or more!) fully loaded ice cream(s). You may decide you want it to be pay as you go. We’ll talk you through the various options and help you make a decision. We charge an attendance fee which will be added to the provision you choose for your guests.

Are you insured and inspected?

Of course! We are fully insured for what we do - vehicle and public liability insurance. We are registered with and inpected by Cornwall Council and hold a 5* food hygiene rating. Our kitchen at home is also approved for baking cakes and other sweet things. All staff hold at a minimum, a food hygene level 2 certificate.

I’ve never been to a wedding with an ice cream van?

Nor had we before we bought one! Does it go down well? YES! Check out out testimonials here. Adults love the indulgent treat and kids (obviously) think it’s the bomb.

…just on that, when would you arrive?

In short - any time you like! Your booking will include us being on site for 2.5 hours to serve your guests. You could have us on site as entertainment (or a distraction!) between the ceremony and wedding breakfast - perhaps while the bride and groom were off having photos. We could be a desert option with ice cream, brownies, sundaes and sorbet. Or, we could serve with the van fully lit, into the evening. The choice is yours and we would be happy to discuss options.

We’ve booked Beryl. What happens if it rains?

Unfortunately inclement weather in the UK is fact of life! That said, we will do everything we can to make your event as successful as it can be. We will consult with you and usually the result is that we attend as planned. More often than not the weather is not as bad a predicted and everyone has a great time! If a biblical downpour or unseasonal snowstorm is predicted, other options include popping a gazebo out the front of the van, substituting Elsie for Beryl and have her serve ice cream undercover or bringing Vera intead - revelling in the warmth coffee as well as ice cream brings!

Is there anything else I should know about?

Hannah is a first rate baker. She makes many of the yummy goodies we serve out of Vera and has also made countless wedding and other celebration cakes for happy customers throughout Devon and Cornwall. If we are providing home-made cakes to your wedding or event, she will consult with you regarding dietary requirements, allergies and vegan options. This also includes our ice creams with Roskilly’s producing a number of vegan ice cream and sorbets. We are also able to provide gluten free cones and cakes.

I’m sold, how can I book you?
